Procrastination is a world in every high schoolers vocabulary. For me, procrastination has always been a big struggle. I tend to put off not only assignments, but also super important things until the last minute. I wish I could blame it all on the fact that I’m a senior, but in reality I’ve always been bad about procrastinating.
I didn’t realize how good it feels to get all of the things that you are stressing on out of the way. For the three months we have been in school I had many opportunities to get some very important tests done, get senior pictures taken, and get practice for Dancing With The Stars in, but instead I pushed it off until the last week I had to do all of it. My stress and anxiety levels were through the roof. I thought I wasn’t going to get any of it done. But luckily, I told myself I could do it, and was able to get all three things done within the same week. When I finished my last task I went home, sat on the couch, took a deep breath, and just felt the weight lift off of my shoulders. It was honestly one of the greatest feelings. I felt accomplished, and there is nothing better than that when you have stressed yourself out for three months! So, no matter how unmotivated you feel to get your assignments done, you should always tackle them as soon as you can. Because if you do you will feel so much more relaxed and make the school year so much easier.

Growing up in my neighborhood, you would see kids running around everywhere you look. My friends and I would always be outside playing hide and seek, riding bikes around the neighborhood, or playing a game of baseball or kickball in the street. When you’re young you never realize just how fast time really flies by.
There were about 20 kids in the neighborhood, and everyone got along like brother and sister. It’s crazy to think that now, when I walk outside, I am the one seeing kids running around everywhere I look, growing up like I did. I am the only one out of the original group who still lives in the neighborhood, so as I look down the street I sometimes wish that I could go back in time and live those days again. The memories and people will never be forgotten, no matter how distant we become, and being able to grow up with the people I did will always be a blessing. So, don’t take life too seriously and enjoy every moment, because you never realize how fast those moments will fade away.

In the society we live in today, you are expected to be a certain way. look a certain way, talk a certain way, and drive a certain type of car. You are expected to be perfect, but that's not reality. You can't bring yourself down because you don't "fit" someone else's standards.
You have to be who you are, because every person was made different for a reason. That sounds clique, and I know you all have heard it before, but you need to be you. forget the unrealistic standards this society has drilled into your head and be whoever you want to be. Do what you love no matter what other people say. Keep your hopes high, your head up, and a smile on your face because that's the only thing people should want out of you. To see you living a happy life. Show society that the only expectation they should have for people is to see one another happy.

Being Positive Is Key
10/6/17
Being positive is key when it comes to being a high schooler. If you don't look at the positive side of things then high school is one tough ride that you can't get off.
Everyone has negative things happen in their life; such as: losing friends, having homework every day, or an unstable home life; but you can't let those things bring you down. I know looking on the bright side of things can be extremely difficult at times, but if you decide to do so it can make life so much more enjoyable.
Let me tell you a story about one of the most negative things that can happen to someone, but how i kept my head up through it all. When i was thirteen, I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. When i heard the words "you have cancer" leave the doctors mouth, I IMMEDIATELY wondered what my future would hold, or if i would even have one. but, due to those thoughts, i looked at the positive side and accomplished everything i had wanted to. I knew that if things were going to go wrong it needed to happen while i was happy. I walked the halls of school everyday with a smile on my face because I knew feeling down about it wouldn't change a thing. I was friendly to everyone, I got involved in everything I could, and i never let my scars make me feel like i was less. So, if i can be positive through something as major as that, you can be positive through anything you are going through as well. Because, like i said in the beginning, being positive is key to a happy life.

Early Graduation
09/22/17
Early Graduation is something many people wonder about. Most people who want to graduate early don't know the steps to take, and they worry about the long process, but it's definitely worth it all.
My decision to graduate early wasn't really something I thought about a lot. It was more of an all of the sudden decision I made toward the end of first semester my junior year. I started by going to Mrs. Grass to see what it would take and if I would even be able to do it. Most other people I knew who had graduated early had to attend summer classes to get enough credits, but I was lucky enough to only need .5 credits to graduate, which I was able to take online. The online class is through Satellite High School, in which my subject is Mythology. I read through a chapter, do a review on it, and take a test with Mrs. Grass. Once I finish all of my Mythology unit I will officially be graduated in December.
Strafford will get out for winter break on December 21, which will be my graduation date. While all Strafford students are going back to school on January 3, I will be getting ready to start my college career at OTC, until I transfer to MSU. Being a college student is a scary thought, but I am fully prepared to take on that new adventure.
