Don't let the high school myth change you.
december 1st, 2017.
Earlier this school year, my family and I began talking about C O L L E G E. That 7 letter word stresses me out more than anything. Trying to pick a school that isn’t too far away but isn’t too close. I’m 15 years old and I’m already stressing about what college I want to attend in 2 years. 2 years. That’s 730 days. I have to decide if I want to play volleyball and basketball. I’m going to have to decide what I want to do in life.
High School has honestly been the best two years of my life so far. One of the reasons for that is because of the support of the community. Whether we win or lose, there is always at least 100 people in attendance. The people in the Strafford community will never understand the amount of confidence and self love they provide towards me. I honestly can’t describe the amount of love that I experience at this school. I truly believe that my school is the best and most supportive school anyone could ever ask for.
The high school myth that I believe is that high school is some of the best and worst years of your life. I feel as though some people TRY to make them so good that they miss out on other opportunities that they may have. High school stresses me off more than anything but it also has truly been 2 of the best years of my life. I have changed so much these last two years and I’m so thankful for that. I feel as though some people allow the High School myth to change them.

New Beginnings
Nov. 13, 2017
Hey friends :)
This week i have decided to write about something a little different.I have decided that this school year is going to be different and I’m so excited about it. I am so excited about this new beginning!!
Last year I stayed stressed, I know that clearly that wasn’t obvious at all, but like I would just come home and cry. EVERYTHING stressed me out. Everything worried me. Everything shook me up. I refuse to let myself get like that. Now clearly, many people get stressed over school, but how I got just wasn’t healthy. And I won’t let myself get like that again.I don’t have to do anything alone, and I now know and understand that. So no more stressing myself out !!!!
Okay so last year I was a freshmen and clearly a lot of fear comes with that. You want to fit in. You want people to like and accept you. You want to be welcomed.. etc. the fear of rejection was REAL. and sometimes that means molding yourself into what makes you be those things .. sometimes it means changing yourself. Well, I’m not doing that anymore.I want to be the best version of myself possible. I want to chase after my dreams.. and you guys, I have some big dreams. Constantly dreaming of them. I want to do these things, even if that means I have to lose some people. I’m okay with it. I Want to be what i am supposed to be, not what others want me to be. I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS CHANGE 4 SURE !!!!!
I am so different than people around here and that’s something I’ve always known. I’ve always craved adventure. I’m always craving the feeling of walking around cities I’ve never met and towns I’ve never seen. I want to explore. I have big dreams. Dreams that people would call insane. My mindset is different. Really different. I connect with people from different states more than I connect with most people from around here. I like different things and enjoy things that people around here don’t. I don’t belong to little cities. I don’t belong to the little town of Strafford, mo. I want more than that. I want Paris. I want excitement. I want new. I want to be myself. I want to live out my dreams no matter how crazy they may be. I want to help people. I want to love on people.I want to take chances. Many of them. I don’t want to just do what’s comfortable, so I’m stepping out of my little shell. And I just hope that this year, I am nothing but my true self. I hope I do what makes ME happy. I hope that I learn to express my true self, the part of me that is so different than the people around here. I hope I get to see new things and meet new people. I hope I’m the happiest ever.

THE STRUGGLE IS REAL.
OCT. 27, 2017
I struggle. You struggle. That person on Instagram who you think has a perfect life? She struggles. We all struggle. We all have battles that we have to face. We all have seasons of life that we have to go through. We all have bad days and bad nights, sometimes even bad weeks.. and sometimes we look all around for different things to fix those struggles. I am so so guilty of looking here and there and down and all around when I struggle when really, I need to be looking up. I have a really bad habit of always focusing on the bad in every situation when I should be focusing on the good.
The fear of judgement, it is so real and so hard to face. There have been so many times I have skipped out on something, or not done what I truly wanted to do because of just simply being scared of judgement. That is the biggest struggle of my life, the fear of judgement. I shouldn’t be living off of what others are going to say or think because here is the simple truth, someone will ALWAYS have something to say. Someone will always disagree with what you think. Someone will always judge you based off of silly things. Someone will always not like you, and sometimes for no absolute reason. And that’s what I’ve learned and realized lately.
You should do what you want to do. You should be who you want to be. You should say what you want to say and dress how you want to dress. You should post what you want to post. Because someone will always have something to say, and it just simply doesn’t matter.
Life is very truly beautiful, I hope we all never forget that. :)

National Pregnancy and infant Loss awareness day!!
Oct. 15, 2017
Hey friends :)
THis is also a topic very near and dear to my heart since just last year i had a very close friend lose their baby. too many people grieve in silence and sometimes never come to terms with the loss. 1 in 4 women experience a miscarriage in their lives, yet how many women do you know who actually talk about it? I doubt very many. It is not a topic anyone ever wants to discuss.
I just want you know know that if you are miscarrying or have lost a child during pregnancy, you are not alone. You are part of a club that no one wants to join, but once you are a member, the support is overflowing.Every year on october 15th, around 7pm in all time zones over the world, everyone who has experienced a loss of a baby lights a candle and keeps it burning for a least an hour after being lit. It is called "a wave of light" over the world in remembrance of their losses.

Worldwide mental health day !!!
Oct. 11, 2017
HEY FRiends :)
HEre is a picture of my sister and I at the top of a mountain, even though I sometimes feel like I'm at the bottom of a valley- Mental illness affects 2 out of every 5 people you know. when you need to, and even when you don't, talk about it.
So as many of you may know(it's okay if you don't) today was worldwide mental health day.. and this day is a topic that Is very near and dear to my heart and I want to remind each and everyone of you struggling with mental health to be gentle with yourself because you're doing the best you can! :)
Always remember a little progress each day adds up to big results.
Big question: Do you treat others how you treat yourself?
Honestly, most people would say no, since they are nicer to other people. Hopefully we don't treat others even half as bad as we treat ourselves. would you talk badly to a friend- or even a complete stranger in this case? absolutely not. It is so natural for us to be kind to the people we care about in life. we let our friends know that it is okay to fail since it is only human, but do we do the same to ourselves? Guilty. We reassure our friends that they are not the horrible words they think about themselves when they are feeling down, but do we treat ourselves the same? of course not. We are compassionate and comfort our friends when they are feeling troubled. But how many of us are good at being compassionate to ourselves?
LIFE IS VERY TRULY BEAUTIFUL, I HOPE WE ALL NEVER FORGET THAT. :)

National Redhead day !!!
OCt. 6, 2017
Redhead's take up around only 2% of this world!!! That's 140 million out of the 7.8 Billion people in this world. Shs is very blessed to have around 15 people that are Red heads!
With national redhead day coming up soon, here are the redhead facts of the day !
M. Chadwell
With national redhead day coming up soon, here are the redhead facts of the day !
- The highest concentration of redheads is in Scotland (13%) followed by Ireland (10%). Worldwide, only 2% of people have red hair.
- People with red hair are likely more sensitive to pain. This is because the gene mutation (MC1R) that causes red hair is on the same gene linked to pain receptors. It also means redheads usually need more anesthesia for dental and medical procedures.
- Having red hair isn't the only thing that makes some redheads unique. They are also more likely to be left handed. Both characteristics come from recessive genes, which like to come in pairs.
- Redheads probably won't go grey. That's because the pigment just fades over time. So they will probably go blonde and even white, but not grey.
- Rumor says Hitler banned marriage between redheads. Apparently he thought it would lead to "deviant offspring."
- Redheads most commonly have brown eyes. The least common eye color: blue.
- Bees have been proven to be more attracted to redheads.
- Being a redheaded man may have health benefits. A study published by the British Journal of Cancer suggested that men with red hair are 54% less likely to develop prostate cancer than their brown and blonde-haired counterparts.
- Redheads actually have less hair than most other people. On average they only have 90,000 strands of hair while blonds, for example, have 140,000. However, red hair is typically thicker so it still looks just as full. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation-now/2016/11/05/redhead-day-9-fun-facts-red-hair/93341504/

National Chocolate milk day!!
September 27th, 2017
CHocolate milk. Thick. Creamy. rich. The ramen noodles of the dairy world.
September 27th was national chocolate milk day! Chocolate milk CONSUMPTION stats says that, "The average yearly consumption of chocolate milk is about 6 liters per person, which translates into 17 mL per day.1 This represents only 9% of total fluid milk consumption, which is about 70 liters per person per year! That's a whole lot of chocolate milk, which means america loves it.
Why did the farmer buy a brown cow? because He wanted chocolate milk! Seven percent of all American adults believe that chocolate milk comes from brown cows, according to a nationally representative online survey commissioned by the Innovation Center of U.S. Dairy. that works out to 16.4 million misinformed, milk-drinking people.

Suicide prevention week!!
september 10-16, 2017
HEY FRIENDS !! :))
FOR MY FIRST BLOG POST, I WANTED TO WRITE ABOUT THIS SENSITIVE BUT LIFE CHANGING TOPIC. FIRST OFF, I KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO LOSE SOMEONE SO CLOSE TO YOU AND IM TRULY SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. ALTHOUGH SUICIDE PREVENTION WEEK WAS LAST WEEK, I FIGURED IT WOULD STILL BE OKAY TO TALK ABOUT THIS.
IN OUR SOCIETY, MORE AND MORE KIDS, PARENTS, GRANDPARENTS, FRIENDS ARE TAKING THEIR OWN LIVES. MORE AND MORE PEOPLE ARE GOING THROUGH THE HARDSHIP OF DEPRESSION.
PSYCHOLOGY TODAY SAYS THAT "SO MANY PEOPLE ARE EXPERIENCING DEPRESSION BECAUSE THEY ARE NO LONGER FOCUSING ON A PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE." RESEARCH HAS SHOWN THAT IF PEOPLE ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT WHAT THEY ARE DOING ARE DRASTICALLY LESS LIKELY TO BE DEPRESSED. WHAT IS MOST HEARTBREAKING ABOUT IT THOUGH, IS WHEN PEOPLE STOP BELIEVING THEIR LIFE HAS A PURPOSE, THEY NO LONGER FEEL AS IF THEY HAVE SOMETHING OR ANYTHING TO LVE FOR. WHICH IS HEART SHATTERING, BECAUSE EACH AND EVERY PERSON ON THIS EARTH HAS A BEAUTIFUL AND SPECIAL PURPOSE. WHETHER YOU CHEER PEOPLE ON IN THE STANDS, LEAD FCA OR FBLA OR FCCLA, PLAY ON THE COURT, READ BOOKS, TEACH CLASSES, OR ARE JUST A GOOD FRIEND TO PEOPLE, YOU HAVE A PURPOSE! WE ALL HAVE DIFFERENT PURPOSES BUT WE ARE ALL SPECIAl in our very own unique ways.
STUDIES HAVE ALSO SHOWN THAT THOSE WHO LOVE THERE FRIENDS AND FAMILY AND HAVE TRUE, LOVING, INTIMATE RELATIONSHIPS ARE MORE JOYFUL AND RADIANT. IT IS IMPORTANT TO HAVE SOMEONE TO LEAN ON, WE WERE NOT MEANT TO LIVE ALONE. SO BE A GOOD FRIEND TO EVERYONE.
HAVING DEPRESSION DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE WORTHLESS, AND I COULD NEVER STRESS THAT ENOUGH. THERE IS NO SHAME IN TELLING ANYONE THAT YOU NEED HELP. TELLING ANYONE; A PARENT, TEACHER, TEAMMATE, CLASSMATE, COACH, FRIEND, GRANDPARENT, SIBLING! JUST KNOW THAT PEOPLE LOVE YOU AND YOU ARE DEEPLY VALUED. ALTHOUGH IT IS SCARY AND HARD TO TELL SOMEONE, IT IS A 100% GAME CHANGER!
LIFE IS VERY TRULY BEAUTIFUL, I HOPE WE ALL NEVER FORGET THAT. :)
